Dr. Vallée is an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at Université de Montréal. He is also a nephrologist at Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont, where he oversees the hypertension clinic. Dr. Vallée received his medical degree from Université Laval, where he also obtained a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and a doctorate in basic research. Dr. Vallée also received a subspecialty certificate in nephrology from Université de Montréal and his master's degree in epidemiology from McGill University. He did his fellowship in hypertension at the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal and McGill University.
Dr. Vallée is an active member of the prestigious Canadian Hypertension Education Program (CHEP), for which he is notably a member of the #Renal and Renovascular Hypertension Subgroup#. CHEP recommendations on the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension are internationally recognized. He also works with the Conseil du médicament on many projects related to nephrology and hypertension. He is also co-editor of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Québec's quarterly newsletter.
Dr. Vallée is particularly interested in medical education through continuing medical education and academic training for residents, externs and medical students from Université de Montréal as well as through his involvement in CHEP, the Quebec Society of Vascular Sciences (for which he serves as vice-president), the Société québécoise d’hypertension artérielle, the Société québécoise de néphrologie, and the Société québécoise de transplantation
In terms of research, Dr. Vallée is interested in various clinical projects that mainly focus on hypertension, chronic renal failure, dialysis, calcium and phosphate balance and kidney transplantation.
