Dr Jocelyn Dupuis
Profile

After receiving his Doctor of Medicine from Université de Montréal, Dr. Dupuis did his internship at McGill University, followed by a doctorate in experimental medicine at this same institution. He then specialized in internal medicine and then in cardiology at Université de Sherbrooke. Since 1994, he has practised cardiology at the Montreal Heart Institute, where he started a basic and applied research laboratory. He has received awards at every level of the Clinical Research Scholar program of the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé and received a National Researcher Award.

Dr. Dupuis' research work focuses on pulmonary circulation and how this circulation is modified in pulmonary hypertension. The goal of his research is to understand the physiopathological mechanisms responsible for this disease so that new therapeutic and diagnostic approaches can be developed for this condition. Since 2008, he has worked in particular on developing novel patented molecules for the molecular imaging of pulmonary circulation, as well as on developing new therapies for pulmonary hypertension, particularly when it is related to heart failure.

D. Dupuis is also the director of the Pulmonary Vascular Diseases research group that he created in Spring 2017, and which has for objectives to develop new treatments and diagnostic procedures for group II pulmonary hypertension. Since the creation of the group, many innovative, clinical and preclinical, projects start, involving more than 20 researchers from various clinical and basic disciplines.
