The 2018 Grand Bal des Vins-Cœurs, Montreal Heart Institute Foundation's annual flagship event, was held last night. Thanks to the generosity of the guests, the evening was a huge success and it raised $1,700,000. This sum will support the Institute’s mission to invest in highly specialized equipment, research, teaching, innovative projects, prevention as well as professional training.

This grand evening gathered nearly 800 guests, most of which are members of Montréal’s arts and business communities, who got together to celebrate and assist this world-renowned institution in its fight against heart disease, for the benefit of all Quebecers.

The Institute’s annual numbers:

  • More than 77,000 visits to outpatient clinics

  • Over 18,000 emergency room cases

  • 50,000 patients across the province

  • 1901 major cardiac surgeries

On this distinguished event, the Foundation awarded philanthropists Philippa and Marvin Carsley its prestigious Medal of Honor to thank them for their generous financial support. In 2005, they created a research chair on cardiac genetics and pharmacogenomics and they were also pillars in the establishment of the Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Centre. Through their generosity, involvement and dedication, they contribute significantly to innovation at the MHI and its reputation.

The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation would like to thank its faithful partners, the Cirque du Soleil and SAQ, as well as this edition’s Platinum partner, Pomerleau, other partners and generous guests.
